5 things to do in maintaining a healthy gut microbiome:

  1. Eat anti-inflammatory foods (leafy greens, cold-water fish, nuts, seeds, olive oil, berries, cruciferous vegetables, peppers, beets, garlic, turmeric, etc.)
  2. Consume probiotic foods (sauerkraut, kimchi, pickles, kefir, active yogurt, etc.)
  3. Consume prebiotics (garlic, onions, leeks, asparagus, bananas, barley, oats, apples, flaxseeds, etc.)
  4. Avoid anti-inflammatory foods (sugar, processed foods, white bread, white rice, alcohol, red meat, etc.)
  5. Supplementation is key. There are a lot of great supplements out there, but here is a good gluten-free supplement line to try – Essential Stacks: (1) Gut L-Gluatamine – great for leaky gut and strengthening the gut lining. (2) Pure Enzymes – great for general digestive issues.
