Myofascial massage is a technique of massage therapy that involves dynamic and very slow stretching and tension on the tissues in order to influence the fascia tissue that surrounds the muscles. It is used to treat myofascial pain syndrome, skeletal muscle immobility and pain by relaxing contracted muscles. Massage therapy is manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments) to enhance a person’s health and well-being.
